Instructions to print on plain paper or vellum that will be glued on the inside of the card:

The download sample templet is from PrintMaster Platinum but you can use any card program to print your card. Download Template (.hcr)

  1. Open your cards program
  2. Choose brand new, half fold, tall (You can choose wide for the wide card)
  3. Go to the inside of the card. (Page 2 and 3 will be showing.)
  4. Choose T for text and draw a box.  Type your sentiment in the box, choose font style and color and center on page 3.
  5. The box around the sentiment has 3 black boxes on each side, center the middle one on the guide line (Guide line measures 3 ¾" down from the top on the left side).  To create a guide line, position the arrow pointer over the horizontal ruler.  As you press the left mouse button on the ruler a guide a line is added.
  6. Put a graphic on page 2 or place a sentiment there.
  7. Choose print and choose inside page only.
  8. Take the paper and fold it in half. Place it in the card and draw a line around the outside of the card on the paper and then cut the paper.
  9. Glue the page into the card, sign and send.

You can use a variety of different papers to give different looks, such as parchment, preprinted design paper that can be purchased at any office store such as Office max.    A nice look that I like to use is transparent vellum.  This give a rich look and I will soon be carrying it on our web site.

Due to the cost of the vellum you can print as above on the right side of the page and then flip the vellum and run it through the printer again.  Now cut the 11" side of the vellum in ½ so it is now 5 1/2 ". Center the sentiment vertically in the card, pencil a mark on the vellum at the top and bottom of the card and cut the extra off. Now take the vellum and line up the right edges of the vellum and the card, then fold the left side of the card over putting a crease in the vellum.  Now all you have to do is glue the vellum in the card and sign and send it. Using this method you can get 2 cards done with 1 piece of vellum.

You may also need to print as an inkjet transparency under paper type so the ink doesn't smear.
