Using Wash-Away to get that "Elegant" Look:

I use Wash-Away for sewing out my designs on the organza.  I rinse the design in water  and then glue it into my card to get that wonder sheer look.  Now you can also create that elegant look!

Here's how I get my elegant look:

  • You hoop 1-2 layers of the Wash-Away with the organza depending on the density of the design. Most of the time 1 layer is all that is needed.
  • Sew out your design
  • Trim to the right size for the die cut card
  • Place the design in bowl of water and let it soak
  • The majority of the stabilizer will disappear in about 10 sec. (if you have a dense design you may need to soak the design a bit longer to dissolve all of the stabilizer and remove the stickiness.

Hint: You can use cold water but I find that if cold works then hot is better. When you soak the design using a bit of dish soap helps to get the stickiness from the stabilizer out. You may have to rinse the design twice.  I just let them set for ½ hour or so (or even overnight) and go and sew more designs as I am just a bit impatient and I hate to waste time.
